Welcome

Once you’ve had an “Offer in Principle” or an “Acceptance Subject to Conditions” we will help you fulfil the terms of acceptance. What does this mean?

When a lender issues an “Acceptance for Credit” to you, they will request that you are able to evidence your identity and your declared income. If you are asked for these, please do not be offended. There is absolutely nothing to worry about as these identity checks are for our customers’ own protection and protect yourself and our lenders against fraud and financial crime

Types of IDENTITY Validation and why these are required

We need these to ensure that you are who you tell us you are. This is to protect you, us and our lenders.

We will always need to see at least one of the items below along with a SELFIE of yourself holding the identity proof under your face. This is simply to make sure that we can see a “true likeness” of the proof your holding up against your lovely face.

  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Valid Passport

Types of Income Validation for EMPLOYED customers

If you are employed and PAYE [pay as you earn] you will often need to forward your most recent Salary Advice or Wage Slip. These MUST show your Year to Date [YTD] earnings at the time they are requested and submitted to us.

Bank Statements – Sometimes, the lender may ask for these where wage slips alone have been unable to evidence your income. Again, please don’t be concerned about sharing such detail with the lender or ourselves as these are required by law to ensure responsible lending legislation and policy rules are met.

Income Validation for SELF-EMPLOYED customers

If you are Self Employed, our team will speak to you individually about what the lender will accept from you as these are often specific to your application and individual circumstances will of course vary from one customer to another. Completed Self-Assessment Packs in accordance with HMRC are often sufficient in evidencing self-employed income; so too are business or personal bank statements, but your Account manager will guide you through what is needed and how best they can help you fulfil any requests of this nature.

We will always be able to talk you through any part of your journey with us, but if you are savvy enough to navigate your own way through this part without our help and consider yourself a Gadget Dude or Dude-ess, then there are just a few helpful tips that you need to know before you impress us with your gadgetry prowess!

When uploading or sending any of the following documents in “picture or photo format” these pictures must be taken in a specific way.

  • All photographs must be taken showing the “whole” document, as we must be able to see all four outer corners.
  • Pictures should be taken whilst lay on flat surface and must not be at an angle.
  • Pictures must not have any filters added to them.
  • All pictures must be in colour and be unaltered from their original format.
  • When taking pictures, please ensure we can see all four outer corners of the document and you should also ensure that you are directly above the document and never at an angle.
  • The best and easiest way to take the picture is for you to put the document flat on a table, then place the camera face down on the document and then slowly lift the camera vertically upwards [away from the object being photographed] until you can see all four corners. Once you’ve done this, take the picture [whilst always making sure that all 4 outer corners are visible.]
  • Please also try to avoid sunlight or torchlights reflecting on the object being photographed as this will often obscure important numbers or letters and won’t be accepted by our lenders.
